Owen and Ethan never forgot the day their grandma surprised them at an Ontario airport by showing up in a giant T-Rex costume. They were little, startled, and completely overwhelmed—but their mom, Tabitha, wasn’t shocked at all.
Planning the Perfect Payback
Two years later, the boys knew their chance had finally come. Grandma was flying to visit them in Victoria, and this time they wanted to deliver the dinosaur scare. They grabbed their Halloween velociraptor costumes, practiced their biggest roars, and headed to the arrivals lounge buzzing with excitement.
Their plan felt flawless. They crouched low, ready to pounce the moment the sliding doors opened.
Then the doors swished apart—and everything fell apart in the funniest way possible.
There she was. Suitcase in one hand, coffee in the other… wearing the same oversized T-Rex costume she’d used to scare them two years earlier.
For a moment, the boys froze in disbelief. Owen burst into laughter. Ethan pointed and doubled over. Grandma, towering in her inflatable dinosaur suit, let out a warm, muffled roar that made everyone nearby smile.
She had beaten them to it. Again.
This time, no one ran. The boys charged toward her, still laughing, and she wrapped her tiny dinos in a giant inflatable hug.
“Guess it runs in the family!” she said proudly, her voice echoing inside the costume.
The airport crowd couldn’t help staring at the three dinosaurs waddling away together—grandma and grandkids reunited in the most wonderfully ridiculous way.
